About BoatGear
Straight-talking gear reviews and buying guides for recreational boaters.
BoatGear.co exists to make outfitting a boat less confusing and less expensive. We sort the gear that matters from the gear that doesn't, so you can spend less time researching and more time on the water.
How we make recommendations
Every product we recommend is evaluated against the manufacturer's published specifications and the consensus of long-term owners. We compare thrust ratings, holding power, fabric grades, screen specs, and safety certifications — the things that actually predict whether a piece of gear will serve you well.
What we don't do is invent data. You won't find fabricated star ratings, made-up test scores, or fake testimonials anywhere on this site. When we say a product is a good value or a smart safety buy, it's based on real specifications and how owners report it performing — not on marketing copy.
How we're funded
BoatGear.co is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission at no additional cost to you — as an Amazon Associate and an eBay Partner, we earn from qualifying purchases. Those commissions keep the site running, but they never decide our recommendations. We point you to the gear we think is right for the job, regardless of which retailer carries it.
Prices and availability
Boating gear prices and stock change constantly, so we don't publish prices that go stale. Instead, our links take you to the current listing so you always see today's price. Always confirm specifications, fit, and certification on the retailer's page before you buy.
